Heard Mr.L.Chandrakumar, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.T.C.Gopalakrishnan, learned Standing counsel appearing for the respondents.

2. The petitioner has come forward with the present writ petition seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the second respondent to consider the grant of licence based on his application dated 27.4.2018.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner has been running a business of selling Biriyani, since 2014 and his renewal application was not considered by the respondents. Hence, the present writ petition. It is further stated that it would suffice, if a direction is issued to the second respondent to consider the application / representation of the petitioner.

4. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents submitted that the second respondent is ready to pass appropriate orders on the application /representation of the petitioner.

5. In the light of the above submissions and the limited scope of prayer sought for in this writ petition, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the second respondent to consider the application / representation of the petitioner dated 27.04.2018 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, after providing an opportunity of personal hearing to all necessary parties, within a period of six weeks, from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. However, there shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
