ORDER

The petitioner, who apprehend arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the alleged offences punishable under Sections 4(1)(A) & 4(1)(C) of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition (amendment) Act 2024 in Crime No.168 of 2025, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner was found in illegal

possession of 40 liquor bottles, each containing 180 ml, for the purpose of selling the same as retail. Hence the compliant.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is an innocent and she has not committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution. He further submitted that the petitioner is ready to abide by any condition that may be imposed by this Court. Hence, he prays for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) would submit that the petitioner was found in illegal possession of 40 liquor bottles without any proper license. She would also submit that there are 5 previous cases of similar nature pending against the petitioner. Hence, she vehemently opposed to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

5. Considering the nature of offence committed by the petitioner, and taking note of the fact that there are 5 previous cases of similar nature pending against the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, the Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. 11-06-2026
