ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed praying to direct the respondent not to harass the petitioner under the guise of enquiry. 2.

Pursuant to the order dated 21.05.2026, today, Mr.Kannnan, Investigating Officer, CBCID Police Station, Puducherry is before the Court through Video Conferencing Mode. Mr.Ramachandramurthy, learned Public Prosecutor (Puducherry) is also before the Court through Video Conferencing Mode. Mr.Prakash Adiapadam, the learned counsel for the petitioner is physically present before the Court. 3.

Mr.Ramachandramurthy, learned Public Prosecutor (Puducherry), on instruction, submits that the petitioner is not arrayed as accused in Crime No.24 of 2025, in which the legal heirs of Natesa Chettiyar have been arrayed as accused. He further submits that the petitioner signed as a witness in the Sale Deed of the defacto complainant. Hence, the Investigating Officer called the petitioner for the purpose of investigation. The Investigating Agency did not harass the petitioner.

The above submission of the learned Public Prosecutor (Puducherry) is recorded.

In view of the above, this Criminal Original Petition is closed. However, in case the Investigating Agency wants to interrogate the petitioner, the Investigating Agency shall issue summons as per BNSS, 2023. In such event, the petitioner shall cooperate with the Investigating Agency.
