This Criminal Original Petition has been filed by the Petitioner / Accused No.1 on 18.05.2026 under Sections 296b, 115(2), 351(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023 and Section 4 of Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act, 2002 corresponding with IPC offences 294(b), 323 and 506(2) of IPC and Section 4 of Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act, 2002 praying to grant an order of pre-arrest bail.

2. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing on behalf of the respondent Police submitted that defacto complainant filed a petition before the respondent Police. He further submitted that the enquiry is pending and this Court may direct the petitioner to cooperate with the enquiry.

3. In view of the submission made by the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side), this Criminal Original Petition is adjourned to 05.06.2026.

4. Considering the nature of the disputes, this Court directs the respondent- Police not to arrest the petitioner till 05.06.2026. The petitioner is directed to appear before the respondent-Police as and when required for investigation and co-operate with the investigation. The respondent-Police is also directed to conduct enquiry as per the dictum laid down in Lalitha 2/4
