G.CHANDRASEKHARAN.

The petitioner namely V.Thilak, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the alleged offences under Sections 448, 294(b), 324, 506(ii) and 379 IPC in Crime No.318 of 2023 on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.
2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that, petitioner is shown as accused in Crime No.318 of 2023 for the offences under Sections 448, 294(b), 324, 506(ii) and 379 IPC for the reason that, he did not pay the rent. Apprehending arrest at the hands of the respondent police, this petition is filed.
3. Learned Government Advocate (Criminal side), opposes this petition, on the ground that, petitioner is a tenant under the defacto complainant. Petitioner has not paid rent for more than a year. When defacto complainant demanded the rental arrears, petitioner had beaten the defacto complainant with wooden log and caused injuries. He further submitted that, defacto complainant's 8 sovereign thali chain was also
missing. The injured is discharged from the hospital. Thus, he prays for dismissal of this petition.
4. Considered the submissions and perused the records.
5. It is seen from the first information report allegations that, on 04.06.2023, at about 4.00 p.m., when defacto complainant demanded rental arrears, the accused said to have beaten the defacto complainant with a wooden log and caused irregular laceration 21x5 cm extending from frontal to occipital region and huge subdural hematoma.
6. Considering the nature of the allegations against the petitioner and seriousness of the injuries suffered by the defacto complainant and that that 8 sovereigns thali chain is not recovered, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
