Prayer : Writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents or their sub ordinates to provide three phase electricity connection at petitioner's premises at Door No.17/43, Beemanna Mudali 1st Street, Alwarpet, Chennai - 600 018, by considering the representation dated 28.08.2021. O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for the issue for a writ of mandamus directing the 2nd respondent to act upon the representation made by the petitioner on 28.05.2021, wherein, the petitioner has sought for a three phase electricity connection for her residential premises.

When the matter was taken up for admission, the learned standing counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents, based on the instructions, submitted that the petitioner has made a representation and the same cannot be acted upon by the 2nd respondent. The learned counsel submitted that the petitioner can submit an application through on-line and the same will be considered and on the petitioner satisfying the conditions, the three phase connection will be immediately given to the petitioner.

3. Taking into consideration the submissions made by the learned standing counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents, the petitioner is directed to make the on-line application to the 2nd respondent immediately. The 2nd respondent, on receipt of the same, shall act upon it. According to the petitioner, she is not in possession of the original title documents, since it has been lost. However, the petitioner is having other documents to substantiate her right over the property. These documents shall be produced before the 2nd respondent and the same shall be considered at the time of providing the three phase electricity connection to the petitioner. This process shall be completed by the 2nd respondent within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of application from the petitioner.

4. This writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs. Consequently connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
