O R D E R

The prayer sought for herein is for a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to expeditiously dispose of the representation made by the petitioner dated 19.07.2021 as regards the name transfer application dated 20.08.2020.

2. The petitioner is a resident and having property in the respondent Corporation. In order to change the name of the petitioner by way of mutation in the records for the purpose of assessment of property tax, she made a request to the respondent Corporation. However, the same was returned or a reply has been given by the respondent Corporation stating that, unless the petitioner pays a security deposit for the purpose of water supply and drainage, the request of the petitioner cannot be considered.

3. In response to the same, the petitioner on 19.07.2021 has given a detailed representation stating that, the area or the property of the petitioner which was located, there has been no water supply or drainage facilities provided so far by the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

respondent Corporation. Therefore, the question of making any fixed deposit or security deposit does not arise in the name of water supply or drainage. Therefore, by giving exemption for the petitioner to pay the security deposit, the petitioner's request to mutate his name in the concerned Register for the purpose of assessment of property tax can be made.

4. Since the said representation, according to the petitioner, has not been considered, she approached this Court by filing the present Writ Petition with the aforesaid prayer.

5. When the Writ Petition is taken up for hearing, Mr.P.Srinivas, learned Standing counsel appearing for the respondent Corporation, on instructions, would submit that, the request of the petitioner having been acceded to such exemption was granted and an order to that effect was passed by the respondent Corporation on 25.09.2021.

6. Therefore, the learned Standing counsel would submit that, the prayer sought for by the petitioner has been met and therefore, recording the same, this Writ Petition can be disposed of.

7. The said factor is not controverted by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner. In view of the said development having been taken place subsequent to the filing of the Writ Petition, this Court feels that, recording the aforesaid development, this Writ Petition can be disposed of. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of. However, there shall be no order as to costs.
