This writ petition has been filed for the issue of writ of mandamus directing the respondents to grant revised scale of pay with re-designation based on the earlier orders passed by this Court in a writ petition filed by similarly placed persons and based on the representations given by the petitioners in this regard.
2.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners, learned Additional Government Pleader for the 1st respondent and the learned Standing Counsel for the 2nd respondent.
3.The case of the petitioners is that they joined as Helpers in 5/8
various departments in the Annamalai University and they continue to work till date. All these petitioners gave representations to the 2nd respondent seeking for fitment in the sixth pay commission revised scale of pay with effect from 01.01.2006 with re-designation as per G.O.Ms.No.338 dated 26.08.2010. The petitioners are also relying upon the earlier orders passed by this Court in this regard. The representations made by the petitioners to the 2nd respondent did not evoke any response. Therefore, the present writ petition has been filed seeking for appropriate directions.
4.Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the nature of relief sought for by the petitioners and also considering the earlier orders passed by this Court, there shall be a direction ot the 2nd respondent to deal with the representations made by the petitioners on its own merits and in accordance with law and in line with the relevant Government Orders and take a decision within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and convey the same to the petitioners.
5.The petitioners are directed to make individual representations to 6/8
the 2nd respondent along with all the relevant documents and also a copy of this order.
6.This Writ Petition is disposed of with the above directions. No costs.
