For Petitioner(s):

ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by G.R.Swaminathan J.) Heard both sides.
2.
The writ petitioners are street hawkers carrying on their business in
Adayar locality. They are now facing the threat of dispossession at the hands of the Corporation officials.
4. The learned counsel for the petitioners drew our attention to the order dated 12.11.2025 passed in W.P.No.17501 of 2025. One D.Malini had filed the said Writ Petition. She is also a street vendor carrying on her business in the very same locality. The said Writ Petition is also disposed of by the Hon'ble Division Bench in the following terms. Paragraphs 3 & 4 read thus: "3.Mr.M.Suresh Kumar, learned Additional Advocate General appearing for the respondent Corporation submits that once an application is submitted by the petitioner in prescribed format, that will be considered and the application would be decided and positively the permission would be granted in any vending zone in that locality.
4. The said submission made by the learned Additional Advocate General appearing for the respondent Corporation is taken on record. Therefore, we hope and trust that as early as possible, preferably within a period of two weeks, such an application in prescribed format would be given by the petitioner to the Regional Zonal Officer, Zone- 13, of the Chennai Corporation and on receipt of such application in prescribed format, let the Zone vending committee decide the application as indicated above and pass necessary orders to that effect and intimate the same to the petitioner forthwith at the most within a period of one week thereafter."
5. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the Corporation contends that the locality in question has already been declared as a non-vending zone.
6. We are inclined to adopt the very same approach in this writ petition
also. This Writ Petition is also disposed of on the same lines. No costs. (G.R.S.,J.) (V.L.N.,J.) 20-05-2026 (1/2) Index:Yes/No Speaking Order:Yes/No dna/rka
