Respondents Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 17.04.2018 and issue Patta to the petitioner to an extent of 0.57 cents out of 1.76.5 Hectares of unassessed agricultural land in Survey No.19/2, situated at Kaveriyampoondi Village, Tiruvannamalai District within the time stipulated by this Court and further directing the respondents not to issue house site patta in favour of other members who are not in possession. O R D E R

The prayer sought for herein is for a writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 17.04.2018 and issue Patta to the petitioner to an extent of 0.57 cents out of 1.76.5 Hectares of unassessed agricultural land in Survey No.19/2, situated at Kaveriyampoondi Village, Tiruvannamalai District within the time stipulated by this Hon'ble Court and further directing the respondents not to issue House site patta in favour of other members who are not in possession.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that he has been in possession of said land for over a period of thirty years and now, the respondents are seeking to disturb his possession without disposing of his representation or following any procedure known to law.

In view of the grievance expressed by the petitioner, there shall be a direction to the second respondent to dispose of the representation dated 17.04.2018 filed by the petitioner seeking patta within a period of eight weeks from the date of a receipt of a copy of this order. Till such time, the possession of the petitioner shall not be interfered with. Connected W.M.P. is closed.
