O R D E R

This petition has been filed seeking for police protection to the petitioners.

2.The learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that the petitioners loved each other and married on 27.12.2018 at Sri Lanka. Both the petitioners are citizens of Sri Lanka. This marriage was not to the liking of the parents of the 1st petitioner. The parents are living at Trichy. When the petitioners came to Tamilnadu, the parents took away the Passport of the 1st petitioner and it is not being returned back to the petitioners. Therefore, they are not able to go back to https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

Sri Lanka. That apart, it is also alleged that there is a threat to the life and limb of the petitioners from the parents and relatives of the 1st petitioner.

3.Heard the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing on behalf of the respondent police.

4.Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case, the 2nd respondent is directed to immediately call the parties for an enquiry and shall instruct the 3rd respondent to immediately return back the Passport of the 1st petitioner, to enable the petitioners to go back to Sri Lanka. The 2nd respondent police shall also ensure that there is no threat exerted against the petitioners by the 3rd respondent and his family.

5.This Criminal Original Petition is disposed of with the above direction.
