The instant Writ Petition has been filed with a prayer for issuing a mandamus to direct the second respondent to dispose of the appeal dated 10.01.2025 preferred against the order dated 06.12.2024 of the first respondent within a time frame that may be fixed by this Court.
2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that he was employed as an Assistant Quality Inspector in the respondent/Corporation. While he was in service, a charge memo was issued against him for certain irregularities. He would further submit that after completing the enquiry, the petitioner was imposed with the punishment of stoppage of increment for two years with cumulative effect, and recovery was also ordered against him. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner had preferred an appeal on 10.01.2025 before the Appellate Authority, who is the second respondent herein, and such appeal is pending consideration before the second respondent.
3. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents would fairly submit that they would consider the appeal within a reasonable time. 2/5
4. Heard the learned counsel for both sides and perused the materials available on record.

In view of the above submission, without going to the merits of this Writ Petition, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the second respondent to consider the appeal filed by the petitioner on 10.01.2025, and pass orders on its own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
