Respondents Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a writ of Habeas Corpus directing the respondents to produce the body of the petitioner's wife namely L.Vasanthi (aged about 24 years), and his daughter L.Yashini (aged about 4 years) the detenues herein before this Court and set them at liberty.

ORDER
[Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.] Seeking a direction the respondents to produce the body of the detenues before this Court and to set them at liberty, the present habeas corpus petition has been filed. 2.It is the case of the petitioner that his wife and daughter went missing from 13.08.2020 and despite the complaint given by him, the police have not taken effective steps to secure them.

4.On instructions, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that on the complaint given by the petitioner, a case in Nolambur P.S. Crime No.1576 of 2020 for woman and girl missing has been registered by the police and investigation is in progress. The investigation conducted so far reveals that the petitioner's wife had developed intimacy with one Mahimai Raj and has eloped with him.
5.Recording the same, this habeas corpus petition stands closed with a direction to the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Thirumangalam to monitor the investigation in Crime No.1576 of 2020 and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any. As and when the detenues are secured, they may be produced before the jurisdictional Magistrate, under intimation to the petitioner.
