This writ petition has been filed for the issue of writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the representation made by the petitioner on 10.05.2021, wherein the petitioner has sought for grant of recognition for an intake of 100 students for the B.Ed Programme.

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned counsel appearing on behalf of respondent. 3.

The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner institute is imparting B.Ed Programme from the year 2009

onwards, after the recognition was granted by the respondent. The petitioner was requesting for an intake of 100 Students and the respondent had also sent an inspection team to satisfy themselves on the available infrastructure and instructional facility.

The respondent by a communication dated 16.09.2019 directed the petitioner to submit certain documents for processing the request made by the petitioner and accordingly, the petitioner also submitted all the documents. Thereafter, one more notice was issued on 06.11.2020, directing the petitioner to submit some more documents and these documents were also furnished by the petitioner.

The respondent after considering the documents submitted by the petitioner through proceedings dated 05.04.2021 granted continuation of the recognition for the B.Ed programme. However, the intake was restricted to 50 students. 6.

The petitioner aggrieved by the same made representations to the respondent to grant recognition for 100 students, since the college was originally granted recognition for 100 students. Since the same did not evoke any response, the present petition has been filed seeking for appropriate directions.

Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the limited relief that has been sought for in this writ petition, there shall be a direction to the respondent to consider the representation made by the petitioner on 10.05.2021 and take a decision and pass appropriate orders, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. The petitioner is directed to make a fresh representation to the respondent along with all the relevant documents and also a copy of this order.

This writ petition is disposed of with the above directions. No costs.
