By consent of learned counsel on both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

The present writ petition is filed praying for a writ of mandamus to direct the 1st respondent to dispose of the petitioner's Revision /Appeal in Na.Ka.J12/1521139/2023, dated 17.11.2023, against the order in Na.Ka.No A2/1067/2021 dated 01.11.2023, passed by the 2nd respondent herein, pertaining to the subject property situated at Chettiyar Agharam Village, Maduravoyal Taluk, Chennai, comprised in Old S.F.No.30/1, part New S.F.No.69/21 admeasuring a total extent of 116 sq.mts of vacant land.
3. It is submitted by the learned counsel for petitioner that the petitioner has submitted representation dated 11.09.2020 to the 3rd respondent seeking transfer of patta in petitioner's name. Petitioner had preferred a writ petition 2/6
before this Court in W.P.No.29805 of 2022 for a writ of mandamus to consider the aforesaid representation, wherein this Court directed the respondents to consider the application of the petitioner dated 17.09.2021 within a period of 6 weeks from the date of receipt of copy of the order. It was further submitted that the 3rd respondent issued proceedings in Na.Ka.No.1712/2020A1, dated 25.05.2021 to the 2nd respondent, who in turn had sent a letter to the 3rd respondent on 25.06.2025 seeking explanation. Thereafter, the 2nd respondent passed an order dated 01.11.2023, rejecting the petitioner's application. Challenging the order of 2nd Respondent, petitioner filed a Revision / Appeal before the 1st Respondent on 17.11.2023 under the Tamil Nadu Patta Passbook Act, 1983, well within the limitation, however the same is pending till date. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner has approached this Court by way of this writ petition.
4. At the outset, it is submitted by Mr.S.J.Mohamed Sathik, learned Government Advocate for respondents that the appeal filed by petitioner would be considered and disposed of within a period of 8 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of with a direction to the respondents to dispose of the appeal filed by the petitioner within a period of 8 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order after affording the petitioner and other interested parties a reasonable opportunity of hearing. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the appeal and it is open to the concerned respondent to consider the appeal on its own merits and in accordance with law.
