This Criminal Appeal is filed against the order of conviction under Sections 7 and 13(2) r/w.13(1)(d) of Prevention of Corruption Act. 2.

The trial Court, after considering the evidence let in by the prosecution, has convicted the accused for receiving the bribe of Rs.5,000/- for giving three phase service connection and sentenced him to undergo 3 years Simple Imprisonment and to pay a fine of Rs.20,000/-, in default to undergo 6 months Simple Imprisonment for each of the offences. 3.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner had raised certain grounds for challenging the trial Court order. However, on the face of it, this Court finds those grounds are not sufficient to suspend the sentence. Hence the petition for suspension of sentence is dismissed. 13.07.2023 rpl 2/2
