O R D E R

The instant writ petition has been filed with a prayer for issuing a mandamus to direct the first respondent herein to consider and pass orders on the revision petition dated 17.02.2025 on merits and in accordance with law, with regard to the cancellation of the punishment of postponement of increment for one year with cumulative effect, within a time frame.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that he was imposed with the punishment of postponement of increment for one year with cumulative effect on 05.05.2011. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner preferred a review petition before the second respondent. However, the order of punishment was confirmed. He would further submit that aggrieved by the review order, he preferred a revision under Rule 15A of the Tamil Nadu Police Subordinate Services (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 1955, on 17.02.2025, and such revision is pending with the first respondent. 2/5

3. At this juncture, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents would fairly submit that the first respondent would dispose of the revision made by the petitioner within a reasonable time.

4. Heard the learned counsel for both sides and perused the materials available on record.

In view of the above submission, without going to the merits of this Writ Petition, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the first respondent to dispose of the revision dated 17.02.2025 filed by the petitioner on its own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
