ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Sunder Mohan J.) The Writ Petition is filed for the following relief: "for issuance of a mandamus, directing the respondents to restore access route at Kamatchi Amman Koil Street for pedestrian and two wheeler, enabling them to reach Railway station ticket counter, RMS post office and Bus stand, effortlessly and to consequently direct the respondents to restore the public rights to use the access perpetually."

2. Mr.V.T.Balaji, learned counsel for respondents 1 and 3, submitted that the access to the railway station through Kamatchi Amman Koil Street was closed for safety reasons and the general public has access to the railway station from the Chennai GST Road

as well as through Nehru Street.

3. In fact, the petitioner himself has stated in paragraph No.5 of the affidavit that the Railway authorities have given access to the station for the convenience of the people through Nehru Street and Chennai GST Road.

4. In view of the aforesaid submissions of the learned counsel for the respondents 1 and 3 and the averments made in the affidavit filed in support of the petition, we see no reason to issue a mandamus, as prayed for.

5. Accordingly, the Writ Petition is dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, the connected Writ Miscellaneous Petitions are closed.
