(Order of the Court was made by S.S. SUNDAR, J.) This writ petition is filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the 1st respondent Committee to pass orders regarding the community status of the petitioner in accordance with the judgment of the Supreme Court in Kumari Madhuri Patil and another v. Additional Commissioner, Tribal Development and others reported in (1994) 6 SCC 241 within a reasonable time.
2.Having regard to the limited scope of the prayer in the writ petition, this Court is inclined to dispose of the same, as the respondent has no objection for giving a direction regarding early disposal of the matter. Since the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner states that the report from Vigilance Committee has already been received along with Anthropologist
report, the scope of enquiry is limited and final orders can be passed within a reasonable time, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's contentions and the averments in the affidavit filed in support of this writ petition, directs the 1st respondent to pass final orders on merits and in accordance with law, after hearing the petitioner, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 3.With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs. (S.S.S.R., J.)
