ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by G.R.Swaminathan J.) Heard both sides.

The writ petitioner's son is undergoing life sentence in Central Prison, Cuddalore. The convict's brother's wedding is scheduled to be held on 27.05.2026 at Nagapattinam. Even though the convict has spent only two years and seven months in prison, emergency leave for such purpose can very well be granted.

The learned Additional Public Prosecutor states that the factual claim made by the petitioner will have to be ascertained. 4.

We permit the respondents to make such verification. If the respondents are satisfied that the convict's brother's wedding is to be held on 27.05.2026, emergency leave for two days can very well be granted. Of course, the prisoner will duly be escorted by the police and the cost of providing escort will have to be borne by the convict or the petitioner herein.
