O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed to call for the records relating to impugned letter No.1434/Sa.1/Sa.Nee/TNSTC/Ka.Ma/13 dated 02.08.2013 and quash the same and also to direct the respondent to pay arrears of pension due to the petitioner from 01.08.2003 onwards within a time frame and continue to pay pension till his life time.

When the matter is taken up for consideration today, it is brought to the notice of this Court by Mr.T.Chandrasekaran, learned counsel appearing for the respondent/Corporation that the case of the petitioner was considered by the respondent/Corporation and accordingly, pension was granted as early as on 30.10.2017 and he was also paid pension arrears of a sum of Rs.4,82,143/- (Rupees Four Lakhs Eighty Two Thousand One Hundred and Forty Three only) and the petitioner is being paid an amount of Rs.11,800/- towards monthly pension.

3. However, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that he could not obtain any instructions from the petitioner.

4. In the light of the statement made by the learned counsel appearing for the respondent/Corporation, this Court does not see any reason to adjudicate the matter on merits and is of the considered view that the relief sought for in the writ petition has become infructuous.

5. Accordingly, the writ petition is closed as infructuous.
