Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying this Court to issue a writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, to call for the records pertaining to the order passed by the first respondent herein in G.O.(Ms) No.1710, Home (Pol.9) Department, dated 23.11.2007 amending Rule 24 of the Tamil Nadu Special Police Subordinate Service Rules and quash the same and consequently direct the respondents herein to consider the petitioner's promotion to the post of Inspector (General Line) taking into account the date of promotion to the post of Sub Inspector (Armourer) i.e. 18.03.2004 and promote the petitioner as Inspector (General Line) from the date of promotion of immediate junior with all consequential service and monetary benefits.

When the matter was taken up today for hearing, Mr.Ravi Shanmugam, learned counsel appearing for petitioner on instructions, seeks permission of this Court to withdraw the present writ petition.
