Respondents Prayer : This Writ Petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a writ of mandamus, forbearing the Respondents from in any manner making appointments to the posts of Lecturers in the Tamil Nadu Collegiate Educational Service pursuance to the notification dated 14.08.2008 without first making appointment to the backlog vacancy for Most Backward Community/ De-notified community as has been done in respect of the back log vacancies for Schedule Caste/ Schedule Tribe.

The Petitioner prays to issue a writ of mandamus, forbearing the Respondents from in any manner making appointments to the posts of Lecturers in the Tamil Nadu Collegiate Educational Service pursuance to the notification dated 14.08.2008 without first making appointment to the backlog vacancy for Most Backward Community/ De-notified community as has been done in respect of the back log vacancies for Schedule Caste/ Schedule Tribe.

2. When the matter was called on 30.07.2018, at request of the learned counsel for the petitioner, the matter was adjourned to 31.07.2018. On 31.07.2018 when the matter was called, there was no representation for the petitioner in the morning and also in the afternoon, and hence the matter was directed to be posted on 01.08.2018, under the caption "for dismissal". Even today i.e on 01.08.2018 when the matter is called in the morning there is no representation for the petitioner, hence the matter was passed over to 02.15 p.m. Even when the matter is called in the afternoon, there is no representation for the petitioner. Hence, the writ petition is dismissed for non prosecution. No costs.
