[Order of the Court was made by M.SUNDAR, J.,] Captioned 'Writ Petition' ['WP' for the sake of brevity] is predicated on a representation dated 25.08.2023 sent by the writ petitioners and a scanned reproduction of the representation as placed before us is as follows: Page Nos.3/8

2. Issue notice to official respondents.

3. Mr.M.S.Arasakumar, learned Government Advocate accepts notice for R1 to R4.

4. Though notice has not been ordered earlier, we find that State counsel is ready with a counter affidavit dated 27.11.2024. However, notice has been issued today and State counsel has accepted notice.

5. A portion of sub-paragraph (e) of paragraph 5 of the counter affidavit reads as follows:

'5 (e) ........Hence the Zonal Deputy Tahsildar has stated that on receipt of the final orders by the 3rd respondent in the subject matter further action may be taken.'

6. Adverting to the above portion of the counter affidavit, learned State counsel submits that R3 (Revenue Divisional Officer, Udyarpalayam Division, Ariyalur District) will pass final orders within eight weeks from today i.e., on or before 21.05.2025. This submission is recorded.

7. Owing to the writ petition being filed for a simple mandamus and in the light of the stated position of learned State counsel which is also in the form of a counter affidavit before us, we are of the considered view that Page Nos.6/8

it will suffice to record the stated position of the learned State counsel to give a closure to the captioned WP. We do so. Captioned main WP disposed of recording the stated position of the learned State counsel (recording the same as an undertaking given to the Court by R3). There shall be no order as to costs.
