This Criminal Original Petition has been filed by the petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 21.06.2024, seeking bail in Crime No.347 of 2024 for the alleged offences punishable under Sections 4(1)(a) r/w 4(1-A)(ii) of Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act.
2. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner aged about 64 years, is an innocent person and she has been implicated in this case, since she has some previous cases of similar nature. He also submitted that the petitioner is no way connected with the alleged offence, whereas, she is in custody from 21.06.2024. Hence, he prayed for bail.
3. Learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police submitted that the petitioner/accused was found to be in illegal possession of 15 litres of illicit arrack. He also submitted that 44 previous cases of similar nature are pending against the petitioner. He further submitted that the investigation in this case is still pending, hence, he opposed for allowing the petition.

4. Taking into consideration the submissions made by the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) that the investigation is still pending and also considering the antecedents of the petitioner and she was arrested only on 21.06.2024, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.
