ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.] The petitioner is the mother of Selvam (Life Convict Ct.No. 22376), who, is undergoing life sentence in the Central Prison, Coimbatore.

2. This habeas corpus petition has been filed for a direction to the prison authorities to transfer Selvam from Central Prison, Coimbatore to Central Prison, Palayamkottai on the ground that the family and relatives of Selvam can interview him and meet him if he has been lodged there.

3. In the opinion of this Court, a direction as prayed for cannot be granted inasmuch as it is for the Jail Authorities to take a decision for transfer of a prisoner from one prison to another. However, it is seen that the wife of the convict sent a representation dated 21.10.2020 to the second respondent and therefore, the second respondent, is directed to pass appropriate orders on the said representation within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. In view of the above, the habeas corpus petition stands disposed of.
