Petitions filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to consider and pass orders on the application submitted by the petitioners on 27.11.2017 and 23.11.2017 seeking Computer Patta for the Plot Nos.5, 6, 7, 13 and 10 respectively in Old Survey No.69 and New Town Survey Nos.153/2, 147 and 162 Sri Amman Nagar Extn., Oragadam Village, Ambattur Taluk, Chennai-600 053 (Village Natham Land) after entering their names in the village Revenue Adangal Register forthwith.

ORDER

The petitioners have come to this Court seeking a direction to the respondent to consider and pass orders on their applications dated 27.11.2017 and 23.11.2017 seeking Computer Patta for the Plot Nos.5, 6, 7, 13 and 10 respectively in Old Survey No.69 and New Town Survey Nos.153/2, 147 and 162 Sri Amman Nagar Extn., Oragadam Village, Ambattur Taluk, Chennai-600 053 (Village Natham Land) after entering their names in the village Revenue Adangal Register forthwith.

2.The case of the petitioners is that they have submitted a representation for the grant of patta on 17.06.1992 and 17.07.1992. Based on the report of the Inspector, New Town Surveyor, the respondent has issued Grama Natham patta to the petitioners on 30.04.2003 and 22.09.2002. The petitioners applied for issuing computer patta before the respondent by remitting the fee of Rs.50/-. Finding no response, they are before this Court seeking the above prayer.

3.Learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent sought for sufficient time to consider the case of the petitioners.

4.A perusal of the records show that the petitioners have been issued with Gramanatham by the Special Tahsildar on 30.04.2003, 28.09.2002 and 22.09.2002. A communication dated 17.07.1992 also shows that the petitioners request would be considered in due course. Therefore, the petitioners are directed to produce a copy of Adhar card, ration card and relevant documents to the respondent within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On receipt of the same, the respondent is directed to consider the case of the petitioners within a period of four weeks thereafter. Accordingly, these writ petitions are disposed of.
