The petitioner has come up with the present writ petition seeking a writ of mandamus directing the 1st respondent to release
the Scholarship for the SC/St Student to the petitioner for year 20072009.
2. According to the petitioner, the petitioner is entitled to receive the scholarship from the respondent/University Grants Commission and since the same has not been paid, he has approached this Court with this writ petition.
3. The learned counsel for University Grants Commission, Mr.P.R.Gopinath submits that the University Grants Commission instead of sending the grant for the purpose of releasing scholarship to the eligible students of the second respondent University, had wrongly sent the same to some other University. Subsequently, on notice, the mistake was rectified and fresh communication dated, 11.3.2011 had been issued by the respondent/University Grants Commission whereby, the necessary amounts has been disbursed to the second respondent University for the purpose of releasing the scholarship for the petitioner also.
4. In view of the said facts, especially the communication of the University Grants Commission dated 11.3.2011 which has been produced by the learned counsel for the University Grants
Commission, petitioner's grievance is redressed and no further order needs to be passed at this stage.
5. Recording the above stated facts as well as the communication dated 11.3.2011 of the University Grants Commission, this writ petition is disposed of without any costs. Index:
