ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to provide police protection to the petitioner and his property situated at No.38, Dumas Street, Pondicherry, under the supervision of the 1st respondent or by Home Guards under the control of the 3rd respondent.

2. On a reading of the petition it is seen that there are several civil disputes between the petitioner and his land owner. The petitioner has not even made the land owner as a respondent.

3. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor, Puducherry, submitted that the police have registered regular FIR in Cr.No.185 of 2017 against the petitioner and three others for offences under Sections 147, 148, 427, 294(b), 324, 506(ii) and 109 IPC. He also submitted that another case in Cr.No.85 of 2018 has been registered against the petitioner for the offences under Sections 452, 427 and 506(ii) IPC r/w 34 IPC.

4. Under such circumstances, this Court is of the view that no police protection can be granted to the petitioner. Accordingly, this petition is dismissed.
