Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents herein to grant Pistol to the petitioner on the strength of his representation dated 12.8.2013 to the respondents.

ORDER
This writ petition is heard through Video-Conferencing, on account of the COVID-19 pandemic situation.
2. The petitioner has sought for a mandamus, directing the respondents to grant Pistol to the petitioner on the strength of his representation dated 12.8.2013.
3. Whatever be the reasons, the petitioner has furnished for his entitlement to possess a pistol, he has to apply for the licence in the prescribed form with supportive documents only under the Arms Act, 1959 before the appropriate authority, whereas, the petitioner has sought for a mandamus for grant of https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
Pistol itself, which is not possible and such prayer, is not maintainable.
4. Hence, the Writ Petition is dismissed. It is open to the petitioner to apply under the Arms Act, 1959 for appropriate licence, whichever weapon he wants to possess in the manner known to law. No costs.
