O R D E R
Seeking directions to the 2 nd respondent to furnish the information sought by the petitioner in his RTI application dated 12.03.2025, and to dispose of his appeal dated 19.04.2025, pending before the 1 st respondent, the present writ petition is filed.
2. Mr.V Manoharan, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents.
3. By consent of both the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
4. The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner is an advocate and social activist in Namakkal District. He submitted an application dated 12.03.2025 under RTI, seeking information regarding the issuance of patta to Page No.2 of 6
one Mr. Ramakrishnan and also the details of any subsequent land acquisition proceedings under the Land Acquisition Act, 1894, in respect of land in Survey No. 136/1B1, Kokkarayanpet Village. Despite the RTI application being received by the authorities on 17.03.2025 and a subsequent statutory appeal under Section 19(1) of the RTI Act on 19.04.2025, there was no response or information provided by the respondents-authorities. Hence, the petitioner filed the present writ petition seeking directions to the respondentsauthorites to provide information based on his application submitted under RTI on 12.03.2025 and to dispose of the appeal petition dated 19.04.2025 pending before the 1 st respondent.

Though many grounds were raised in support of the writ petition, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that it would suffice if, this Court issues a direction to the 2 nd respondent to furnish information sought by the petitioner in his RTI application dated 12.03.2025 and to dispose of the appeal dated 19.04.2025, pending before the 1 st respondent, within a time frame fixed by this Court.

In view of the above facts and considering the limited relief sought for by the learned counsel for the petitioner, without going into the merits of the case, I direct the 1 st respondent, to consider the application submitted by the petitioner under RTI on 12.03.2025, by taking steps to dispose of the appeal dated 19.04.2025, and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
7. With the aforesaid direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
