ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the first respondent herein to upgrade the petitioner as Special Sub Inspector of Police from 01.11.2017 and consequently, direct the first respondent to include the petitioner's name in the 'C' list of Special Sub Inspectors of Police / Head Constables fit for promotion as Sub Inspectors of Police (Local) for the year 2021 from the date of promotion of immediate juniors with all consequential service and monetary benefits.

2. Heard Mr.R.Prem Narayan, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.Yogesh Kannadasan, learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is currently working as Head Constable. The petitioner is said to be given with multiple punishments. But, all those punishments have come to an end by 16.11.2021.

4. According to the letter of the second respondent dated 28.05.2021, the petitioner's further promotion or increment can be considered only after 16.11.2021. The petitioner has filed this Writ Petition before completion of the said date (i.e) 16.11.2021.

5. Since there is no punishment under currency as on today, the grievance of the petitioner can be considered now. Therefore, the first respondent shall consider the representation of the petitioner dated 21.06.2021 and pass appropriate orders.

6. In the result, this Writ Petition is disposed and the first respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 21.06.2021 and pass appropriate orders within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
