O R D E R
The petitioners are the senior citizens who moved the District Collector, the first respondent herein, with a petition under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007, against his son, the second respondent.
2. Ms.N.Senthil Selvi, learned Government Advocate takes notice for the first respondent, and made a submission on instructions that the Revenue Divisional Officer concerned has already commenced his enquiry into the matter and seeks some more time to conclude the enquiry. The learned counsel also added that as per the instructions, the petitioners have walked out of the enquiry midway through the proceedings, but added that the enquiry has not yet been concluded.
3. The Revenue Divisional officer is not made a party to this proceedings 2/4
and this Court suo motu impleads the Revenue Divisional Officer, Thirupattur Taluk as the third respondent.
4. Even as this Court directs the Revenue Divisional Officer, Thirupattur, third respondent to complete the proceedings, the petitioners also have a equal level of responsibility to participate in the enquiry, and lend their best co-operation. Subject to the petitioners lending their co-operation for the conclusion of the enquiry, the third respondent is now directed to conclude the ongoing enquiry within a period of eight weeks from today.
