Heard both sides and perused the materials placed before this Court.

2.The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking direction to the the respondents to consider his claim for promotion to the post of Junior Draughting Officer (or) Foreman (or) Foreman Instructor. 3.The case of the petitioner is that he was appointed as Workshop Assistant in the year 1984 and was promoted as Workshop Instructor on 11.07.2007 and retired from service on 31.05.2014 on attaining the age of superannuation. While he was in service, he made representation to the respondents seeking promotion to the post of Junior Draughting Officer (or) Foreman (or) Foreman Instructor, however, his representation was not considered. Hence, this writ petition.

4.The first respondent has filed a counter affidavit stating that Foreman and Foreman Instructor post are one and the same. It is further stated that during the year 2010-2011, 8 new polytechnics were started and 11 new polytechnics were started during the year 2013-14 and 19 Foreman Instructor posts have been sanctioned. It is 2/4

further stated that necessary requisition have been sent to the Government to frame Adhoc Rules for these posts. 5.In view of the above, this Court directs the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 08.01.2014 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law and also on the basis of the subsequent order passed by the Government, if any, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
