Learned counsel for the petitioner/appellant submitted that this Court by an order dated 05.09.2023, had directed the petitioner/appellant to deposit 50% of the decreetal amount with corresponding accrued interest before the Registry of this Court within a period of two weeks from 05.09.2023, however, there had been a delay in getting the order and the petitioner was unable to raise the funds within in a stipulated time, thereby, the Registry has also refused to receive the amount.

He also submitted that even today, the petitioner/appellant is ready to deposit 50% of the decreetal amount i.e., Rs.5,30,200/- (Rupees Five Lakh Thirty Thousand and Two Hundred only) and he further submitted that the petitioner is a senior citizen and thereby, he prayed that two weeks may be granted to the petitioner to deposit the corresponding accrued interest of 50% of the decreetal amount.

Taking into consideration the above submissions made by the learned counsel for the petitioner/appellant, the petitioner is permitted to deposit 50% of the decreetal amount i.e., Rs.5,30,200/- (Rupees Five Lakh Thirty Thousand and Two Hundred only) before the Registry of this Court on or before 27.09.2023. Further, he is directed to deposit the corresponding accrued interest of 50% of the decreetal amount, on or before 09.10.2023. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis
