The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offence punishable under Sections 294(b) and 506(ii) of IPC in Crime No.Not known of 2023 on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. Anticipatory bail petition is filed stating crime number not known and it is filed by the mother-in-law fearing that on the complaint given by the daughter-in-law, the police may arrest her.

3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) for the respondent submits that as per the instructions from the respondent police, the complaint is registered in CSR No.101 of 2023. The petitioner had participated in the enquiry and she has promised to return the jewels of the de-facto complainant and settle the dispute. 4. This Court finds that the police has acted upon the complaint and not registered the case, but conducted the enquiry, hence there is no reason to apprehend that the petitioner will be arrested.

5. Hence, this criminal original petition is disposed of with a direction that the petitioner may participate in the enquiry and in such event, the petitioner shall not be arrested, until and unless any cognizable offence is made out.
