O R D E R

The petitioner association has filed the above Writ Petition to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to dispose of the representation made on 14.06.2014 pertaining to the action be initiated against the vehicle owners for carrying load in the heavy vehicles.

2. The case of the petitioner association is that in spite of the representation dated 14.06.2014, the respondents have not taken any action sofar.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner association submitted that in Chennai, Kancheepuram, Tiruvalluvar and Chengalpattu Districts, the respective officials have not taken any action against the wrong doers for carrying excess load in the heavy vehicles.

3. Ms.A.Mathumathi, , learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents, submitted that the officials are

taking necessary action against the wrong doers for carrying excess load in the heavy vehicles, however, necessary direction may be given to the officials for disposing of the petitioner's representation.

4. Having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, taking into consideration that the petitioner association had given the representation as early as 14.06.2014, without expressing any opinion with regard to the merits of the case, I direct the respondent Nos. 3, 5, 16, 17, 19 and 22 to consider the petitioner's representation dated 14.06.2014 and dispose of the same, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

With these observations, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
