ORDER

The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 08.05.2026 for the alleged offences under Section 185 of Motor Vehicle Act and Sections 110, 281 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, in Crime No.230 of 2026 on the file of the respondent police, seeks bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner, in a drunken state, drove his four-wheeler in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against the husband of the defacto complainant, causing multiple injuries. Hence, the case was registered.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner was remanded to judicial custody on 08.05.2026 and the allegation against him is only that he drove the vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and caused injuries to the victim. Therefore, he prayed to grant bail to the petitioner.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent submitted that the victim has not yet been discharged from the hospital. It is further submitted that after consuming liquor, the petitioner drove the vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and caused multiple injuries to the victim, who is still undergoing treatment. Therefore, he opposed to grant bail to the petitioner.

5. I have given anxious consideration to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side.

6. Considering the submission of the learned counsel on either side and considering the fact that the injured is still hospitalized and having regard to the

nature of the allegations and the injuries sustained, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

7. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed. 01-06-2026 NSL Note:
