ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to allow the petitioner to sign in the attendance register while attending fourth respondent school.

2. Heard Mr.Sumo, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.T.Chezhiyan, learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents.

3. The limited relief sought by the petitioner is to direct the fourth respondent to allow the petitioner to sign in the attendance register when she attended school during Covid-19 period. The grievance of the petitioner is that if she is not allowed to sign the attendance register during the relevant period, she would not be paid with the salary for that period. The petitioner is under presumption that the period for which she was not allowed to sign in the attendance register, would have been Page No.2 of 4

treated as absence from duty.

4. The learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents submitted on instructions that in pursuance of the order passed by this Court in W.P.No.20857 of 2021, all those period for which the petitioner did not come to school due to Covid-19 pandemic, has been treated as duty period and for which she has also been paid with salary. Further the petitioner was allowed to be in service and complete the academic year as her date of retirement fell on 30.06.2023 (as per G.O.Ms.No.115, School Education Department, 28.06.2022).

5. By recording the above submission of the learned Additional Government Pleader, this Writ Petition is disposed as nothing remains to be considered further. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
