ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed for direction directing the respondents to consider the application submitted by the petitioner seeking appointment on compassionate ground.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials available on record.

3. The petitioner's father, while he was working as Assessor in Villupuram Electricity Distribution Circle, died on 25.09.1996 leaving behind the petitioner and other legal heirs. Though the application was submitted by the petitioner's brother seeking appointment on compassionate ground on 20.10.1998, he become mentally unstable and as such, the said application was not pursued further. The petitioner, being the daughter of the deceased, applied for compassionate appointment.

4. In view of the above, after a period of 28 years, the application submitted by the petitioner seeking appointment on compassionate ground cannot be considered. Thus, the writ petition lacks merits and is liable to be dismissed.
