S.Sundaravadivel v. The Sub - Collector,
W.M.P.No.19379 of 2023 in W.P.No.6299 of 2023 R.SURESH KUMAR, J.
Though this petition has been filed to seek for amendment, after hearing the learned counsel for the petitioner as well as the learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents, this Court feels that the amendment sought for by the petitioner is not a simple amendment arising out of spelling mistake or typographical error.
2. The petitioner wants to replace the name of the village 'Monagapadi' with 'Tharamangalam'. Therefore, since there has been no similarity between these two villages either in spelling or in pronunciation or these villages are not even neighbouring villages, how such a mistake could have occurred by mere typographical error has not been explained. Therefore, this amendment cannot be accepted. Hence, the petition is rejected. However, the rejection of this petition would not preclude the petitioner to work out his remedy in the manner known to law.
