JUDGMENT
This Criminal Appeal has been preferred praying to enlarge the appellant on bail in Spl.SC.No.3 of 2024 on the file of the District and
Sessions Judge, Nagapattinam (Special Court of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. 2.
The appellant is the sole accused in crime No.13 of 2023 registered for the offences under Sections 376(2)(i) of IPC and 3(1)(w) (1)(ii) r/w 3(2)(v) of SC/ST POA Act, 2015. It is alleged that the victim girl, who in insanity, went for 100 days work in a village name 'kuttai'. After returning from the work, she informed the defacto complainant that she was feeling some pain and also informed that the appellant committed rape on her. After filing final report, the same has been taken cognizance in Spl.SC.No.3 of 2024 on the file of the District and Sessions Judge, Nagapattinam (Special Court of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

Heard, the learned counsel for the appellant, learned Additional Public Prosecutor for respondents 1 & 2 and perused the materials available on record.

On perusal of records, it is revealed that the appellant is alleged to have committed very serious and heinous offence against a girl
in insanity. Therefore, this Court is not inclined to entertain this criminal appeal.

Accordingly, this criminal appeal is dismissed. However, the trial court is directed to complete the trial within a period of three months from the date of receipt of copy of this order. 13.06.2025 Index : Yes/No : Yes/No Speaking/non-speaking order lok
