This Miscellaneous Petition filed under Rules 20(i) and Rule 20(vii) of the Tamil Nadu Suspension of Sentence Rules, 1982, praying to direct the respondents to grant 30 days ordinary leave / parole to the petitioners namely,

(1) Chinnavan @ Govindaraj, Convict PID No.358848 and (2) Thangabalu, 1/4

Convict PID No.358846, presently confined in Central Prison, Salem, for attending and making arrangements in connection with the marriage scheduled to be held on 28.05.2026 and 29.05.2026 at Belur Thanthondrivar Thirukovil, Salem District, by considering the petitioners' son representation dated 14.05.2026.

(Order of the Court was made by G.R.SWAMINATHAN, J.

) The petitioners were sentenced to life imprisonment vide judgment dated 02.03.2022 in S.C.No.72 of 2017. Challenging the same, Crl.A.No.1185 of 2022 has been filed. The petitioners seek interim bail for the reason that the marriage of the younger son of the first petitioner is to be solemnized on 29.05.2026 at Salem.

2. We are not inclined to grant interim bail. However, without going into the merits of the matter, we grant relief to the petitioners by directing the second respondent to arrange to take the petitioners herein to the venue of the wedding, 2/4

so that they can attend the reception to be held on 28.05.2026 as well as the marriage to be solemnized on 29.05.2026. The petitioners shall be taken to the venue one hour prior to the commencement of the reception and they shall be taken back three hours after the marriage is solemnized. The accompanying Police escort shall be in civil dress. The escort will be at State's cost.

3. The Criminal Miscellaneous Petition is disposed of accordingly.

4. Post the Criminal Appeal in Crl.A.No.1185 of 2022 for final disposal on 29.05.2026.
