2. The writ petitioner is a Contractor. He asserts that the work order issued by the respondent Department was completed way back in the years 2019, 2022 and 2023 respectively. The petitioner's grievance is that the bill amount is yet to be fully settled and the Earnest Money Deposit has not been returned. He has also sent representation on 22.05.2026 regarding the same. However, there was no action on the part of the respondents. Hence, the present

writ petitions.

3. The respondents are directed to conduct an enquiry and on being satisfied about the entitlement of the writ petitioner, release the said amount. The said exercise shall be completed by the respondents within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. I make it clear that I have not gone into the merits of the matter.
