ORDER
(Order of the court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) We have heard Mr.A.Prabhakar Reddy, learned counsel for the petitioner, and Mr.P.Muthukumar, learned State Government Pleader, assisted by Mrs.R.Anitha, learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents.
2. It is submitted that survey was conducted by the respondents and the petitioner apprehends that the respondents would grant leases/licences for removing clay, silt, savudu, gravel
and other minor minerals from the tank bed of 43, Panapakkam Village, Uthukottai Taluk, Tiruvallur District.
3. Learned State Government Pleader submits that amendment has been made in the Tamil Nadu Minor Mineral Concession Rules, 1959.
4. Be that as it may, in the writ petition, we do not find any material to suggest that illegal quarrying or removal of silt, savudu or other minor minerals has taken place at the location alleged by the petitioner. It also does not appear that the petitioner has approached the authority with any such grievance earlier.
5. There are no specific instances brought on record. In case some illegal activities are being done, it is for the petitioner to approach the authorities with a complaint to that effect. If such complaint and/or application is filed, then the authorities may consider the same on its own merits and in accordance with law.
6. With the above observation, the writ petition is disposed of. There will be no order as to costs. Consequently, W.M.P.No.19622 of 2023 is closed.
