By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up and disposed of at the admission stage itself.

This Writ Petition has been filed to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to assign due ranking to the petitioner for Special Recruitment selection for SC/ST made by the 1st respondent, for the year 2007-2008 in the cadre of Lecturer-Chemistry, and to direct the 2nd respondent to fix the seniority wth all the consequential benefits by considering the representation made by the petitioner, dated 17.08.2015.

3. The petitioner applied for Lecturer (Chemistry), but, he was not selected stating that he did not possess M.Phil. in Chemistry, but only possessed M.Phil in Industrial Chemistry.

The petitioner filed W.P.Nos. 160 and 1096 of 2009, which were allowed. Pursuant to which, the petitioner was appointed as Lecturer in Chemistry. Now the grievance of the petitioner is that proper ranking by placing him at appropriate place in Special Recruitment Selection for SC/ST was not given and due seniority was also not fixed. Hence, the present Writ Petition has been filed seeking the relief stated supra.

Mr.P.Ganesan, the learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that though, a larger relief is sought for, the petitioner would be satisfied, if the 2nd respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 17.08.2015, and to pass appropriate orders, within a time frame.

Mr.M.Dig Vijaya Pandian, the learned Additional Government Pleader, who took notice on behalf of the respondents, have got no serious objection in directing the 2nd respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 17.08.2015 and to pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law.

6. Considering the above submissions and also the fact that the petitioner has restricted his relief, this Court, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, directs the 2nd respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 17.08.2015, and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion with regard to the merits of the claim made by the petitioner.
