Respondents PRAYER: Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, praying to direct the respondents to provide police protection to the petitioners on the basis of the petitioners' representation dated 21.06.2019 in CSR No.307 of 2019 dated 21.06.2019, at the time of their appearance before the Inspector of Police, Pramathivelur, Namakkal District for enquiry on the complaint lodged by the father of the 2nd petitioner and also at the time of the registration of the release deed to be executed by the 2nd petitioner in favour of her parents at Paramathi Sub Registrar Office, Namakkal District.

ORDER

This petition has been filed seeking for police protection.

2. It is seen from records that the petitioners, who were in love with each other have married. This is an intercaste marriage. This is opposed by the parents of the 2nd petitioner and they along with their relatives are causing threat to the petitioners. The petitioners had given a complaint before the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

respondent police on 21.06.2019, seeking for police protection. Since no action has been taken, the present petition has been filed, seeking for appropriate directions.

3. In the facts and circumstances of the case, there shall be a direction to the 2nd respondent to immediately call the parties for an enquiry and advice the parents of the 2nd petitioner not to interfere with the life of the petitioners. If, in spite of the same, any threat is exerted by the parents or relatives of the 2nd petitioner, immediate action shall be taken against them and if necessary, police protection shall also be given to the petitioners.

4. This Criminal Original Petition is disposed of with a above directions.
