(Order of the court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) We have heard learned senior counsel for the applicants and learned counsels for the original writ petitioners.

2. The present applications have been filed to implead the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Union of India and the Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory Commission as party respondents in the appeals.

3. Considering the nature of the matter, we permit the present applicants to implead the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy,

Union of India and the Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory Commission as party respondents in the writ appeals.

4. Learned counsel for the applicants shall inform the counsel for the Union of India or learned Additional Solicitor-General of India and the Standing Counsel for the Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory Commission about the impleadment and also serve copies of the paper book to them. In view of that, it is not necessary to issue notice to the added parties.

5. The Registry is directed to carry out necessary amendment in the grounds of appeals.

6. The applications are, accordingly, allowed and disposed of.

7. Place the appeals on 02.08.2023.

8. It is made clear that if it is not inconvenient to the Court, the Court may endeavour to decide the appeals at the stage of

admission.

9. The interim order granted earlier to continue till then.

10. Learned counsels for the original writ petitioners submit that the appellants are not abiding by the interim order passed by this Court. If the interim order is not being abided by the appellants, the parties have recourse available. (S.V.G., C.J.) (P.D.A., J.) 05.07.2023 bbr
