Respondents Prayer in W.P.No.19549 of 2022: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 4 to 6 not to deny, refuse or dispense with the petitioner Employment as Assistant Professor in the Department of Tamil in the Pachaiyappa's College for Men, Kancheepuram, either based on any new appointment to the said post as Guest Lecturer/Assistant Professor in his place or based on any rejection or non-selection of the petitioner name and candidature as per the advertisements dated 03.07.2022 and 10.07.
2022 for appointment to the said post or based on any other undisclosed reason and for a direction to continue his services as Assistant Professor in the Department of Tamil, Pachaiyappa's College for Men, Kancheepuram, till a regular appointment is made to the said post, with the revised consolidated pay which is fixed for the new Guest Lecturers/Temporary Asst., Professors. These writ petitions have been filed for direction to the respondents 4 to 6 not to deny, refuse or dispense with the petitioner Employment as Assistant Professor in the Department of Tamil in the Pachaiyappa's College for Men, Kancheepuram. Either based on any new appointment to the said post as Guest Lecturer/Assistant Professor in his place or based on any rejection or non-selection of the petitioner name and candidature as per the advertisements dated 03.07.2022 and 10.07.2022 for appointment to the said post or based on any other undisclosed reason and for a direction to continue his services as Assistant Professor in the Department of Tamil, Pachaiyappa's College for Men, Kancheepuram, till a regular appointment is made to the said post, with the revised consolidated pay which is fixed for the new Guest Lecturers/Temporary Asst., Professors.
2. The learned counsel for the petitioners would submit that now the recruitment process is going on and some of the petitioners herein have applied for the post of Guest Lecturer. Therefore, the relief sought for in these writ petitions have become infructuous and hence the writ petitions may be dismissed as infructuous.
3. The learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents 4 to 3/6
6 submitted that some of the petitioners also participated in the selection process for the post of Guest Lecturer/Assistant Professor.
4. Recording the submissions made by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and learned counsels appearing for 4th to 6th respondents, these writ petitions are dismissed as infructuous. All the petitioners are at liberty to participate in the selection process to the post of Guest Lecturer/Assistant Professor on condition that they shall fullfill the eligibility criteria. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
