This petition has been filed to direct the 2nd respondent to register the petitioner's complaint dated 23.03.2018 and proceed with the investigation in accordance with law and file a final report. N.SATHISH KUMAR, J.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner; learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents and perused the materials placed on record.

3. A perusal of the complaint reveals domestic violence said to have been meted out by the petitioner. Under such circumstances, this Court is of the view that instead of directing the 2nd respondent police to register a case based on the complaint of the petitioner, the petitioner is directed to give a fresh complaint to the Social Welfare Officer for proper enquiry. On enquiry, if the Social Welfare Officer finds that any cognizable offence is made out, then he will proceed further in accordance with law.

4. With the above observation, the Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
